Chincoteague Nature Encounters is based at Curtis Merritt Harbor on Chincoteague, VA. Eco tours aboard the Seehorse run April-October, by appointment. Catering to amateur and professional photographers, and those who like to use scopes/binoculars - all are welcome! Capt. Debbie holds a Master Captains license to pilot a 50 ton vessel.
Wildlife & Wild Horses Encounters & Experiences
Birding opportunities are fantastic aboard the Chincoteague Nature Encounters vessel, and we also see wild horses. Sometimes we encounter stallions establishing pecking order and challenging one another for mares. My large and comfortable pontoon boat offers opportunities to linger around and watch wildlife behavior. Eleven years of photo-journals and study have informed me to interpret Chincoteague Pony and wild horse behavior.

Why Us?
Over 20 years of Wildlife Education and being a native of the waters on the Delmarva Peninsula and Chesapeake Bay, provide experience and in depth knowledge of the shore.
I go through a vigorous vetting process every few years to maintain my USGC Master Captain credentials and have numerous years of experience boating.
Environmentally conscious and eco- friendly, and a strong affection for marshes and inland bays.
I work with many professionals from all realms, and newbs who simply want to learn. A woman (and mom) perspective offers me an advantage when working with children and those with special needs.
I can also be contracted to speak and bring the world into your classroom, or commissioned to provide photographic services for your outdoor event.
